Dust you are, and to dust you shall return.

A cylindrical vessel in brushed stainless steel, finished with a silversmith's precision. Inside it sits a sealed glass vial holding authentic ash from the Temple Mount excavations in Jerusalem, a piece of history carried against the heart.

The words are cut clean through the steel, so the vial shows through the letters:

"For dust you are, and to dust you shall return." (Genesis 3:19)

A quiet reminder of the cycle of life, of a person's bond with the earth, and of the permanence of Jerusalem.

Releasing the screw at the base slides the vial free, so the ash can be handled, viewed, or passed on.

In 1999, construction on the Temple Mount displaced soil holding three thousand years of history. The Temple Mount Sifting Project recovered it, and a substantial percentage of every purchase funds the Project's ongoing research. No future excavation will ever take place there. Once this material is gone, it is gone forever.
